Treatment MeasuresWetlands : Types
More Information
There are two types of wetlands presently constructed; permanent or ephemeral water bodies.
An ephemeral wetland is one, which periodically dries out. As constructed wetlands are designed to treat stormwater flows as an on-going purpose they usually fall into the category of permanent.
The inlet and outlet locations and the area in which the wetland can be situated usually determine the layout of a wetland. The majority of constructed wetlands form worm like paths through an area to maximise the use of the land.
